These bikes can differ depending on the decade. Their shape, fabrication, paintwork and general styling are often dictated by the fashion of the time. Such examples are beach cruisers, choppers 24 inch wheel BMX’s and lowriders.

There have been some innovations in recent years where materials such as bamboo and bikes with monocoque frames have been designed. Both of these ideas have been produced by Biomega.
