Vinci Park Bike Hire

(STAFFED SERVICE SCHEMES)
This alternative ‘park and ride’ bicycle hire scheme is integrated into France’s leading national car parking network with an aim of reducing congestion within city centres.

The bike hire is included in the price of a car parking ticket, for anyone who parks their car with Vinci Park. The bikes may be used for as long as the car is parked and bikes are available for as many passengers as arrive in the vehicle.

No registration is required, although users have to leave their identity card and parking ticket with one of the carpark’s attendants. Users may also request bicycles to be supplied with a bag, basket, or child seat if available.
The scheme is not currently available across the entire Vinci car parking network – so far 73 car parks in and around Paris and 129 in the rest of France provide this service, which carries a total of 5,000 bikes between all the sites. The scheme is also being introduced in 6 car park locations in Luxembourg.

At the time of writing limited Information was available on the anti-theft/ anti-vandalism features of these bikes and the service. However, most of the bikes are stored in the underground car-parks of Vinci and typically are located in clear view of the ticket office, allowing good surveillance and guardianship.
