The aim of this site is to consult with cycle parking stakeholders to review available advice and combine knowledge, expertise and experience regarding bicycle parking provision. The advice that follows provides a starting point for this consultation. It represents a “best of breed”, generated from a review of a representative sample of bicycle parking standards published on the internet and elsewhere. The best of breed standard was produced alongside a problem-oriented policing guide by the same authors for the prevention of bicycle theft on behalf of the U.S. Department of Justice. As part of that guide a systematic review of bike theft-related literature and police reports was conducted. These documents were also used for the purpose of the best of breed standard, as an additional data capture tool. For a full list of such references see:
