Marcus Willcocks of Bikeoff was invited to give the paper Design Against Crime as Socially Responsive Design at the Design for Commercial Spaces seminar at Instituto Europeo de Diseño (IED), Barcelona in July 2008. He presented to MA students and staff from approximately 10 countries. The presentation introduces concepts from Design Against Crime and Bikeoff and describes iterative design processes as examples of socially responsive design.

Elisava School of Design, visiting lecturer seminar, May 2007.

Marcus Willcocks of Bikeoff and Xavi Camino gave the seminar Urban Acupuncture, Design and Anthroplogy. (Acupuntura Urbana, Diseño y AntropologÌa) as visiting lecturers at the Elisava School of Design, Barcelona. The seminar, given in Spanish, presented different techniques used for understanding and observing and responding to urban scenarios, including Bikeoff research examples.

Marcus Willcocks of Bikeoff was invited to present The Difference is in the Detail, Public Space, Socially Responsive Design and Behaviour at the Design for Commercial Spaces seminar at Insituto Europeo de Diseño (IED), Barcelona in May 2007. Willcocks presented to MA students and staff from approximately 10 countries. The presentation communicated research published on urban details and perceptions, and presenting tools for design responses.

Visiting lecturer seminar, Elisava School of Design, Barcelona, May 2007.

Marcus Willcocks of Bikeoff gave the seminar How to Observe Public Space, Visual Codes and Informal Uses with examples from Bikeoff and others (Cómo observar el espacio público, los Códigos Visuales y Usos Informales) as a visiting lecturer at the Elisava School of Design, Barcelona. Given in Spanish, including Bikeoff material, Willcocks presented to approximately 50 final year undergraduate design students, who proceeded to integrate processes and techniques presented, in the associated 3-month applied Anthropology of Design project.
