Adam Thorpe and Lorraine Gamman curated the Reinventing the Bike Shed 2 exhibition at New London Architecture. The exhibition aimed to explore elements of the passion and the challenge of inner city cycling that was linked to the major show at the London Architecture Biennale.
Staged at the Reinventing the Bike Shed Exhibition, as part of the London Architectural Biennale, these seminars, organised and hosted by Bikeoff sought to identify and share best practice in relation to anti cycle-theft strategies and cycle parking provision. Papers from crime prevention and cycle parking practitioners from London, Amsterdam and Barcelona were presented.
RTBS was staged during Architecture Week as part of the London Architectural Biennale 2006. The exhibition, curated by Adam Thorpe of Bikeoff, was the first to address cycle theft, cycle security and cycle parking, with a focus on the role design can play in reducing cycle theft and increasing cycle use. The exhibition provided a forum for stakeholder seminars addressing these issues and launched an international design competition in collaboration with Blueprint magazine and Fielden Clegg Bradley Architects.
